DIY: Undead Brownies

By: Carissa NguyenTu

By: Carissa NguyenTu

Nothing screams Halloween more than skeletons escaping from their graves! This treat is a combination of rich fudge brownies and sweet, creamy candy melts that are perfect for your next Halloween-themed party. They are also quick and easy to make! This recipe can also be customized to your taste, such as using a different kind of brownie or having fun-colored skeletons!

Prepare the brownies according to the directions on the box, or your own personal recipe.

While the brownies are cooking, prepare the candy melts. Melt about a quarter of the bag worth of candy melts according to the directions on the bag. We melted the candy melts in the microwave for one minute, then microwaved them in 30 second increments until the mixture was completely melted.

Place the melted mixture into a pastry bag, then pipe out some of the mixture into the candy mold. Make sure not to overfill the mold.

Place the candy mold into the refrigerator to cool and harden.

Using a butter knife, cut a little bit of the top of the brownies off to make it look like the skeleton is escaping its grave.

Place the skeleton bones onto the brownie.
